Guglielmo to receive Lifetime Achievement in Mentoring Award

B. Joseph Guglielmo, PharmD, has been named the 2010 recipient of the UCSF Lifetime Achievement in Mentoring Award for his outstanding mentorship of residents and faculty. Guglielmo is a clinical pharmacist and well-known specialist in the management of antimicrobial medications.

In the years since Guglielmo joined the School of Pharmacy's Department of Clinical Pharmacy in 1979, he has cultivated professional potential in scores of pharmacy residents, as well as young and more seasoned faculty members. The repeating themes of his mentorship, according to Robin Corelli, PharmD, a faculty member in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy, which Guglielmo now chairs, are his: ready and wide acknowledgement of the success of others, ability to leverage the success of a single person or program for the success of many, and insistence on balancing work and home life.

The award, which is given by the UCSF Faculty Mentoring Program, will be presented to Guglielmo on May 19, 2010 during a special ceremony at UCSF. See the [award flyer][link defunct as of June 6, 2012] for details.
