George Scangos, PhD, a member of the UCSF School of Pharmacy Board of Advisors, has been appointed chief executive officer (CEO) of the global biotechnology company Biogen Idec, which is headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Zug, Switzerland. The appointment is effective July 15, 2010.
