PLS chapter wins national leadership challenge grant

The UCSF School of Pharmacy student chapter of the national pharmacy leadership society, Phi Lambda Sigma (PLS), has won the organization’s 2012 Charles Thomas Leadership Challenge Grant to support a campus project.

UCSF School of Pharmacy tops U.S. News survey list

The UCSF School of Pharmacy continues to rank number 1 among Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) programs in the United States, according to a new, 2012 survey published by U.S. News & World Report.

The survey results appear in the magazine’s 2013 issue of “American Best Graduate Schools,” which appeared online today at the U.S. News & World Report website and will be available at newsstands on April 3.

Cantilena appointed new ACDRS course director

Louis R. Cantilena, Jr., MD, PhD, is the newly appointed course director of the American Course on Drug Development and Regulatory Sciences (ACDRS) effective summer 2011. This two-year certificate program for pharmaceutical industry professionals is presented by the Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences (BTS), UCSF Schools of Pharmacy and Medicine.

School of Pharmacy biotech symposium features case histories of future pharmaceuticals

Gray receives Krevans Award for outstanding dissertation

Daniel Gray, PhD, is the recipient of the 2011 Julius R. and Patricia A. Krevans Distinguished Dissertation Award. The award, which honors the most outstanding doctoral dissertation by graduate department nominees who completed their PhDs at UCSF during the past year, is named for UCSF Chancellor Emeritus Krevans and his wife, and comes with a cash prize.

Koda-Kimble honored by California State Board of Pharmacy

For her decades of service to the pharmacy profession, Mary Anne Koda-Kimble, PharmD, dean of the UCSF School of Pharmacy, received the highest recognition from the California State Board of Pharmacy on July 28, 2010, during a board meeting in Sacramento, California.
